About this App
Halo Atlas is an interactive atmospheric halo simulation viewer. Explore a variety of simulated ice
crystal halo displays with real-time light source altitude control (0° – 90°), seven projection modes
(Rectilinear, Stereographic, Equidistant, Equal Area, Orthographic, Globe, and Globe — Transparent),
and side-by-side A/B display comparison. Each display includes interactive 3D ice crystal models, halo
identification labels, and shareable URLs with poster generation.
Development & Collaboration
The web app is developed by JIA Hao. Codes for 3D crystal model generation are ported from ZHANG
Jiajie's IceHaloSim program (see Acknowledgements section). Labeling of the halos are assisted by
members from the Chinese halo enthusiast community.

Simulation Images
The simulation images are generated with IceHaloSim, an ice crystal halo simulation program by Zhang
Jiajie.
